We’re handling a couple of cases against insurance companies right now for bad faith denial of claims, or unreasonable delay in paying out otherwise straight-forward claims.
We’ve seen lots of different scenarios, from companies trying to deny that you were “paid in full” at the time you were involved in an accident, to companies simply carrying on “coverage investigations” while you wait for months to get your claim paid. This happens in manycontexts, including: you as a claimant for property damage on your own policy and: you trying to use your Uninsured/Underinsured Motorist benefits to pay for injuries after a collision.
If you are getting the run-around from your insurance carrier about the coverage that you’ve bought and paid for, and they won’t deal with you in a straight-forward manner, give us a call. This behavior is becoming more prevalent. Some companies are worse than others, especially in Colorado.
In the meantime, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
